Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using VG Remote Online Notary & Signing Services 's remote online notarization services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

 

2. Services Provided

We provide the following remote notarization services:

  • General notary work (acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, affirmations)

  • Loan signing agent services for real estate transactions

  • Apostille processing and authentication services

  • Remote Online Notarization (RON) via secure video conferencing

 

3. Eligibility and Requirements

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Be physically located in a jurisdiction where we are authorized to perform notarizations

  • Have a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, state ID, or military ID)

  • Have access to a device with a working camera and microphone

  • Have a stable internet connection

  • Be able to communicate in English (or arrange for an interpreter)

 

4. Booking and Scheduling

Before Booking an Appointment:

  • Check if your document requires witnesses. Some documents (wills, trusts, certain powers of attorney) may require one or more witnesses in addition to notarization. It is YOUR responsibility to determine witness requirements and arrange for witnesses to be present during the session.

  • Verify that your document is complete and ready for notarization

  • Ensure you have the correct type of notarization needed

  • Test your camera and microphone to ensure they are functioning properly

Appointment Confirmation:

  • You will receive a confirmation email with session details and instructions

  • Appointments must be kept at the scheduled time or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance

 

5. Technical Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • Your camera is working and provides a clear view of you and your ID

  • Your microphone is working and audio is clear

  • Your internet connection is stable throughout the session

  • You are in a well-lit, quiet environment

  • You can clearly display your government-issued ID to the camera

Failure to meet technical requirements may result in session cancellation with no refund.

 

6. Identity Verification

We are required by law to verify your identity. You must:

  • Present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID

  • Allow us to inspect and record your ID during the video session

  • Answer identity verification questions if required

  • Ensure your appearance matches your ID photo

We reserve the right to refuse service if we cannot adequately verify your identity.

 

7. Document Requirements

  • Documents must be uploaded prior to or at the beginning of the session

  • Documents must be legible and complete

  • You must understand the contents of the document you are signing

  • We cannot provide legal advice or help you fill out documents

  • Certain documents may be prohibited by law from remote notarization in your jurisdiction

 

8. Recording of Sessions

All remote notarization sessions are recorded (audio and video) as required by law. By using our services, you consent to being recorded. Recordings are securely stored and retained per state regulations.

 

9. Payment and Fees

Payment Terms:

  • Payment is due at the time of booking

  • We accept [credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, etc.]

  • Fees vary based on service type and document complexity

  • Additional fees may apply for rush services, multiple documents, or apostille processing

NO REFUNDS:

  • All sales are final. We do NOT offer refunds for completed or attempted notarization sessions

  • If you fail to appear for your scheduled appointment without 24-hour notice, no refund will be issued

  • If the session cannot be completed due to your failure to meet technical requirements, provide valid ID, or have proper witnesses, no refund will be issued

  • If we are unable to notarize your document due to legal restrictions or incomplete documents, no refund will be issued

 

Rescheduling:

  • You may reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours' notice at no additional charge

  • Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a fee

 

10. Loan Signing Services

For loan signing appointments:

  • You must review all loan documents before the appointment

  • Loan signing sessions typically take 60-90 minutes

  • We will guide you through the signing process but cannot provide legal or financial advice

  • Documents will be returned to the title company or lender via overnight shipping (included in fee)

  • You are responsible for understanding the loan terms and conditions

 

11. Apostille Services

For apostille processing:

  • We will prepare and submit your documents to the appropriate state authority

  • Processing times vary by state (typically 2-6 weeks)

  • Rush processing may be available for an additional fee

  • You are responsible for verifying that an apostille is accepted in the destination country

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by state offices

 

12. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use our services to:

  • Notarize documents you do not understand

  • Commit fraud or misrepresentation

  • Notarize documents for illegal purposes

  • Impersonate another person

  • Use false or expired identification

 

13. Limitation of Liability

We are liable only for our notarial acts as required by law. We are NOT liable for:

  • The legal effect or validity of the document being notarized

  • Technical issues beyond our control (internet outages, platform failures)

  • Consequences of your decisions or the content of your documents

  • Delays in apostille processing by government agencies

  • Rejection of documents by third parties

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.

 

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of our services

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

  • False information or fraudulent documents you provide

 

15. Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service if:

  • We cannot verify your identity

  • You fail to meet technical requirements

  • Your document cannot be legally notarized remotely

  • We suspect fraud or illegal activity

  • You are abusive or disrespectful to our staff

 

16. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State]. We are commissioned as a notary public in [State(s)] and can only perform notarizations within our authorized jurisdiction.

 

17. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiation

  2. Mediation (if negotiation fails)

  3. Binding arbitration in [Your County, State]

You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.

 

18. Professional Standards

We adhere to:

  • State notary laws and regulations

  • National Notary Association standards

  • Secure remote notarization best practices

  • Professional ethics and confidentiality

 

19. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

 

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

 

21. Entire Agreement
